Paris Hilton seems confused about who to blame for her legal problems. This weekend, the clueless bitch canned long-time publicist Elliot Mintz, presumably because she held Mintz responsible for her mistaken belief that she was still permitted to drive despite the suspension of her license. Now, Paris has shifted the focus of her wrath - she's re-hired Mintz (who grovelingly apologized to her in a statement to People magazine) and jettisoned her lawyer instead. Maybe now the lawyer should send a statement to People telling everyone how sorry he is that Paris got in trouble - she may just change her mind again.
Meanwhile, Paris's new lawyer, who specializes in driving cases, has filed an appeal on her behalf. Essentially, for the appeal to work, the lawyer must show that judge Sauer over-reached in slapping the 45-day sentence on Paris. My understanding is that we need not worry about judge Sauer's decision being overturned. The appeal has about the same chance of succeeding as Paris does of getting into Harvard on merit.
