Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are rich - but not rich enough that they can't partake of programs meant to help people who are just scraping by. Like day-care. Angelina needs it, because she's got a gazillion kids. She especially needs it when she's in L.A. and therefore away from the four nannies she employs back in New Orleans (the nannies can't travel with her apparently). Of course, there are such things as special rich-people day-care facilities - but Angelina wouldn't want to drop her kids off among those snots, would she? No, Angelina wants her kids to mingle with regular folk - which is perhaps why she's been dropping them off at a subsidized day-care facility on the Warner Bros. lot.
Now, you might argue, what's the big deal about that? So Angelina doesn't want her kids to grow up snotty. She wants them to have some social interaction with regular children. Isn't that healthy? Maybe - but, unfortunately, the day-care facility, which has only 18 spots for kids of each age-group, has had to make allowances for Angelina, and this has left some people out in the cold. According to the Enquirer, the day-care has a two-year waiting list - but of course Angelina walked right in and started leaving Maddox and Pax there without delay. Oh, and naturally, this being Angelina, certain other rules had to be adopted - like the one where the other parents are not allowed to look at Angelina or speak to her, and aren't even allowed to enter the day-care until she's done either leaving or picking up her brats. Gee, her kids aren't going to grow up with a ridiculous sense of entitlement are they - not when they see their mother being treated like freaking royalty everywhere she goes. But hey, at least they're not playing with snobs.
Yes, it's obvious that Angelina thinks it's her world, and we're just living in it. If Angelina wants to use a day-care meant for studio workers who can't afford nannies, then that's how it's going to be. If she wants to drop them off there for a couple of hours at a time, in spite of her kids technically being enrolled in a full-time program - who's going to argue? Yes, Angelina cares so much about the little people - the little people of other countries. The ones in America she doesn't seem to give much of a shit about. But then, showing a little thoughtfulness toward the working-class of America won't contribute to her beneficent reputation, will it? The U.N. isn't going to give her some kind of special citation or something for being considerate. You have to show off your saintliness by doing magnificent deeds. Everyday courtesy is for the rabble.
