For awhile I thought Jessica Simpson (appearing here at last night's Costume Institute Gala Benefit) was just trying to look Mediterranean, but now I think she's flat-out trying to turn herself into a black girl. One with gigantic breasts and a look of dog-like delight perpetually plastered on her face. If Jessica starts sporting a gold tooth and a crazy weave - well, then we'll know what's up.
