Dina Lohan - Have You No Shame?

Lindsay Lohan's swine-like mother Dina is serious about using her daughter's fame as a portal to her own career in television. Previously, Dina exploited Lindsay, on behalf of her TV aspirations, by allowing Entertainment Tonight cameras to accompany her when she visited her troubled spawn in rehab; and last night, Dina pulled a similar stunt by acting as red carpet correspondent for ET at the premiere of Lindsay's new movie Georgia Rule. I don't know what Lindsay thought of last night's escapade, but reportedly, she was less-than-happy when her mommy showed up at Wonderland with a whole camera crew. In general, I have to think that Lindsay finds her mother's behavior rather obnoxious and embarrassing...is there any need to recount the little tale of the apple and the tree here?

Unfortunately for Lindsay (and potentially us), Dina's dreams of TV fame go beyond the rank opportunism of her Lindsay-related exhibitions. Reportedly, Dina has been going around telling people that she's in the running to replace Rosie O'Donnell on The View. She believes herself qualified for such a position because, at least according to her, all her friends refer to her as "The White Oprah." Because Oprah Winfrey is also an insufferable nincompoop who spends her life alternately lying on behalf of and shamelessly parasitizing her own child?

I'm guessing Dina made up the thing about her friends comparing her to Oprah (unless her friends are talking about some other Oprah who is not a self-made multi-millionaire). And I'm also going to assume that Dina is not actually being seriously considered for any job on The View, unless they're looking for someone to help Barbara Walters put her rubber face on (the one that covers her even-more-hideous real face). Then again, you never can tell. Television people are not always known for their sound judgment. If CBS can hire Katie Couric to do the evening news, I guess Dina Lohan can be on The View. If, in ten years, Dina Lohan is doing the evening news - well, then we'll know Planet of the Apes has come true.
